Aleksandra Kovaleva
Aleksandra is a Russian architect and a co-founder of a young Russian/Japanese architectural atelier KOVALEVA AND SATO ARCHITECTS / KASA, with base in Moscow and Tokyo.
Graduated from MARCHI (Moscow Architectural university, BA'12) and Moscow Architecture school (MARCH, MA'14), Aleksandra has been working for the junya. ishigami+associates in Tokyo for several years, before co-founding her own practice in 2019.
In 2019, KASA won one of the Japan’s memorable architectural awards "SD Review Kajima prize" for their pavilion project for the Buddhism temple. In 2020, the atelier has been selected as a winner of an open competition for the renovation of the Russian Pavilion in Venice.
