St. Petersburg Design Week Opens Event Program

The events schedule for May 29 and 30 has appeared on the website in the "Program" section.
May 29 was announced as the "International Design Day" by the organizers. We advise you to pay attention to the lecture on the phenomenon of the Milan furniture fair from the leading teacher of the International Design School (IDS, St. Petersburg) Tatiana Petrova, as well as the presentation of new designer collections from leading European brands, such as Jung, Ege, Pohjanmaan and Oikos.
On May 30, the events of the Design Week Business Program will be devoted to domestic design and architecture. The program includes lectures at the intersection of fashion, design and art. So, the fashion historian Marina Skulskaya will tell you about how a raincoat turns rainwater into fresh water and other fashion-inventions. You can learn about dexterity, ability to do tricks and other manipulations that cause surprise and delight of others, at a meeting with the artist and designer Andrey Lublinsky. The organizer of the international exhibitions of graphic designers "Marginal Design" and the editor of the "Art" section of the magazine, Alexandra Generalova, will tell how modern art affects all areas of design, shaping the fashion for ugly solutions. Architects and developers will be interested in a lecture by the head of the Futura-Architects bureau, Oleg Manov, on the formation of modern architecture. Designers and decorators are advised not to miss a lecture on how to develop a design studio from the head of Geometrix Design, Michael Miroshkin, and a presentation of stucco decoration and polymer plaster from Rodecor brand manager Olga Grossman.

In addition, from May 29 to June 1, such projects as Design Zona, Trend Zona and Design Sovet will be held at the Design Week Expo exhibition in the Artplay SPb design center.
