St. Petersburg Design Week 2021 Starts in September
The project team has begun preparations for the new season.
Last year, Design Week was held in two formats at once: a four-day Online Forum was held in June, and in September the organizers managed to hold a traditional exhibition and business program at the Design District DAA.
The Online Forum included International Design Day, Russian Design Day, Business Networking Day and Designer's Day. An important block of lectures was devoted to new realities in the design and architecture market. Significant keynote speeches were an overview of the initiatives of the World Design Organization in the context of the economic crisis aimed at supporting design and designers, which was presented by the President of the World Design Organization Srini Srinivasan, as well as a lecture "Design as a driver of innovation", within which the President of the Russian Union of Designers Vitaly Stavitsky prospects for the development of the design industry in Russia.
The autumn offline program was dedicated to the topic of collaborations: for example, the exhibitors of Design Week Expo designed stands in cooperation with leading Russian designers, and as part of the business program, the Day of Business Collaborations was held, the participants of which presented examples of successful cooperation both with representatives of the architectural and design community and with the leaders of the international interior design market. A total of 20 companies took part in the exhibition project.
To make it convenient and easy for guests and participants of the Design Week to navigate the program of events and on the site, the project team launched a special online application. Registered users could add the most interesting lectures to favorites, ask speakers questions, find the right stands, chat with participants, make appointments with visitors, receive notifications about the start of lectures and speeches, and participate in tests and polls.
