April 04, 2019
New landmarks for the oldest district of Tortona, where Design Week is traditionally held, will be technology and craftsmanship. So, from April 8 to 14, city information stands will turn into objects of augmented reality created by designer Alfonso Femia. An important event for the domestic market is the opening of the Russia Design House on Tortona Street.

Tortona is the first and most iconic district in Milan, where Fuorisalone was born. Every year during Milan Design Week it becomes one of the most popular and visited in the city. Eclectic and contemporary, the Tortona Design Week exhibition offering confirms its openness to established designers (Fabio Novembre, Aldo Cibic) as well as emerging youngsters. Two new developments this year: an augmented reality project that’s available to exhibitors to amplify the visitor experience, also applied to physical communication tools (maps, totems, signs) and the introduction of three information stands designed by Alfonso Femia, which will not only offer a range of services to the public, but will also mark the boundaries of the district.
Participants of the Tortona Design Week 2019 include nhow Milano, Delta Light, the German Design Council, Honda, Ikea, Lexus International, Vanity Fair and other brands. For the second year in a row, the Russian design in Milan will be presented by the Russian Designers Club. The main event of this year is the opening of the Russia Design House on Tortona Street, 14. At the new venue, you can not only meet, learn all the most valuable and relevant news about Design Week, but also get acquainted with the latest trends in the Russian creative industry. The project will allow participants to enter the world market and strengthen the position of domestic design.
